About SARTA

SARTA is a partnership between the Louisiana National Guard, the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association, the Louisiana Chief’s of Police Association, Louisiana State Police and Louisiana State University. In the first year of operation, the academy trained over 1,000 officers from more than forty-five different law enforcement agencies from across Louisiana.

SARTA currently offers both tactical and academic course training to law enforcement officers on a scheduled basis. A complete list of current Training Courses and course schedules are available through the menu located on the left of this page. In the near future SARTA will offer some courses through distance learning centers as well as on line training through the Internet. Periodically review this web site for course additions, schedules, and announcements regarding on line training.
